| keep in mind i think that is just for the express one not the regular diagnostic one. The express autotap does not have the advanced parameters and other things here is the difference:
We assume that the typical DIYer doesn't have time to go out and do a lot of reading on every system in his car. Rather than keep adding more and more data, configurable in more and more ways, we went to mechanic shops to find out what typically goes wrong with cars today and what can be fixed in a driveway.
Then we put together a tool that:
1.Includes instructions on every screen so that you don't have to learn it all over again every time you take it out of the box. 2.Adds a Diagnostic Wizard that guides you through diagnosing the most common problems. The parameters used in the guides are automatically shown with no configuration. There are also examples of what the parameters should look like on a graph. Here’s a quick comparison table of AutoTap Diagnostic vs. Express DIY:
AutoTap Diagnostic /AutoTap Express DIY Primary Customer: Performance Enthusiast/ Do-It-Yourself Repair Emphasis Cool Display, gauges, as much data as possible/ Simple to use, guide through diagnosis of problems, automatic display of needed parameters Real time data Yes/ Yes DTCs/Check Engine Yes/ Yes Emissions Readiness Yes/ Yes Diagnostic Wizard No /Yes Enhanced Parameters Option/ No Logging Yes/ No Graphing Yes/ Yes Gauges (Virtual Dashboard) Yes/ No Good foreign vehicle support No/ Yes Diesel Support Yes, but some connections don't work/ Yes, but minimal value at this time Instructions on every screen No/ Yes

| I just confirmed that the coupon code is only for the Autotap Express DIY not the Autotap Diagnostic. To me the Diagnostic would be much better since you can add enhanced perameters later on iff need. With the express you cannot. Here is what the enchanced perameters include:
http://autotap.org/enhanced_parameters_gm.asp
Here is what the basic perameters are:
http://autotap.org/generic_parameters.asp
If you notice one of the most crucial perameters includes knock retard which is in the enhanced so with the express you would not receive that information.
If you want to purchase the Autotap Diagnostic you must go to autotap.org not autotap.com. On the left hand side it will show the diagnostic and click purchase. From there you can add things to your cart. | |

| Good stuff man, thanks for that.
So that's $300 for the Autotap hardware with the upgrade to enhanced parameters?

| well good luck with that 239 buck a pop! What i would do if i had the money is buy one of those and the buy the autotap as well. Then you could program that to monitor 2 things and you would have the autotap to log the other items you are paying attention too. | |

| What else would you want to monitor? You can set it to scan and cyclic display up to 8 parameters.
* RPM * MPH * Intake Air Temperature (post Intercooler) * Ambient Air Temperature (pre Intercooler) * Engine Coolant Temperature * Exhaust Gas Temperature (PCM Calculated) * Transmission Temp. (auto trans) * Manifold Pressure (vacuum/boost) displayed in PSI * Fuel Temperature * Battery Voltage * Battery Temp * Injector Pulse Width in msec. * Injector Duty Cycle (%) * Air Flow Rate into engine * Long Term Fuel Trim * Short Term Fuel Trim * O2 Sensor Voltage * Barometric Pressure * Ignition Advance * Base Spark * PCM Spark Adjust * Fuel Status (open/closed loop) * Wastegate Solenoid Duty Cycle (%) * Knock Retard * Knock Sensor Raw Voltage * Throttle Position Percentage * Throttle Position Sensor Raw Volts * Calculated Net Horsepower * Engine Load * Transmission Slip * Current Transmission Gear * Torque Delivered to Transmission * Torque Converter lockup status * Brake pressure * Brake Booster Travel * Steering Angle * Non-driven Wheel Speed * Lateral G's * Yaw * Fuel economy (instantaneous and average) * P-ratio - pressure ratio MAP/Barometer * 2 user configurable analog inputs

| Well i suppose, if you didnt want to log anything then yah it would work but if you wanted to log stuff so you could go back and look at it rather than just trying to remember. | |

| Yeah I found a good deal on Autotap 2.05 on Ebay from a local seller. Going to see what happens with that and if I don't get it I'm getting one of these gauges. | |
