| I'm about 2 seconds away from beating the car with a hammer! Can somone PLEASE TELL ME what the cylinder numbers are? I mean, the coil packs have the cylinder number on them, but which one is #1, which is #2, etc... Looking at the engine, standing in front of it....which cylinder is #1, which is number 2, etc...???? My shop manual doesn't have it, my owners manual doesn't I'm this close to smashing the whole m'fking thing! | |

| Calm down Nate. There is a cylinder wiring diagram on here somewhere but I'll try to explain.
The Front three cylinders from left to right are #1 - #3 - #5 So the leaves the rear bank of cylinders from left to right while standing in front of the car to be: #2 - #4 - #6
The FSM should have a diagram in there somewhere, I know I've seen it before. But this car has a very easy cylinder placement and firing order to remember. (1,6,5,4,3,2)

| I took the s/c snout off again to reseal it. Was leaking very slowly..
In doing so I forgot the sequence to the cylinders and the coil packs...thought I had it, and car ran like crap for the 5 seconds I had it on... i had marked them, but it rubbed off
Looked in the shop manual...nothing... online...nothing..
then posted here and you guys saved me!
thank amigos! | |

| Did you use the Anaerobic Gasket Maker or something else.?
Also, next time you need to remove the ignition wires - before actually pulling them from the coil and plugs use some masking tape and mark each wire on each end with the cylinder number they came off of. It will help you avoid something as EMBARRASSING as this. j/k

| I bought a kit on ebay and it came with a red gasket material I used... but I had sanded the snout when i took it off...and may have sanded too much...
So I bought some high temp red gasket material at the autoparts store and re-gooped the sh_t out of it. Then put it all back together.
is there some special gasket material we have to use? I don't think the turbine oil will eat this stuff...plus I lock-tight'ed the bolts this time. It appeared oil was leaking around the bolt threads....
LOCK TITE is damned expensive too! The stuff I bought was $21 for a little bottle!

| Np man.
Lemme know when. I'm still working on the new engine. Things have slowed to a crawl at work though, so the $$$ intake for the Rivi engine has ceased......

The Bodyshop Lull -- the dumb deer have all been whacked for the most part and the tourist-driven surprise-stop-and-left-turn-from-right-lane season has not yet begun - that season comes at/after Easter weekend. | Right......actually, the body shop is busy as hell. It's the mechanical end (me) that's slow as hell. People around here just don't have the $$$ to fix their cars, or their spending their $$$ elsewhere. Had a guy come in with 2005ish Ram. SES light was on, he didn't care. He had a Remote Start installed instead......wtf
