How to tell SC Riv?

hello guys im new to the buick family and i was wondering....... how can you tell the diff between a supercharged and a N/A riv without the badge on the trunk??????

The only easy way is by looking at the engine. But if it is a 98 or 99, they came standard with the supercharger.

yeah you have to look at the engine...

Isnt it embedded in the VIN as well?

it must be in the VIN yeah,everything 's in the VIN.

Most of the time you can tell by the rims. If they are the standard rims then they have the n/a. If they have the next step up rims(not chrome) Then most likely it is supercharged. That is the easiest way for me to tell. Most people will not change rims.

The 8th Vin digit will be 1 if it's S/C, and K if it's N/A.

Also, just look for the S/C snout sticking out with the extra belt instead of a black plastic Upper Intake. (S/C engine has 2 belts, N/A has 1)
