Its a supercharged 98 and 56,000 miles since purchased, new, and occasionally under full throttle the shift from 3 to 4 is sluggish. Have changed fluid, and in 300 miles, it hasn't helped. I guess you could say it is slipping on application but then grabs hold. Any ideas? How about a firm shift additive like Lucas Stop Slip? help

Have you replaced the trans filter? I did and it really brought my trans back to life. Even at 255k miles. It is due for a replacement around 40k miles so this should be done anyways.

Hmmmm....well if you're regularly goijg into 4 th then there should be enough fluid in there to prevent the rough shift. Are there any leaks? And did you add fluid since the fluid change? I've added 2 quarts to mine since the change as the fluid gets into all the spaces in the transmission.

Agree, first thing to check is trans fluid level on level ground with engine idling.

First I made sure tranny was up to operating temp by driving 23miles, highway and around town, its 90 degrees here today so I'm sure we got her hot enuff. The dipstick showed full. NO leaks either

The 4th clutch in the 4t65 transmissions are notoriously weak, dump some lucas in and see what it does but it might be too late.

I`ll have to confirm once I get home and access the .bin but isn't the full throttle (WOT) shift point for 3-4 > 120 mph ?

Are you only getting this issue at WOT, or are you getting the symptoms at part throttle as well ?

3-4 shift @ WOT = 124 mph

Maybe he means the 2-3 shift?

As they used to say "You're right, Give that man an RG Dunn". It was an ad for a cigar company, 'way back in the dark ages.

It was on the outskirts of town about mid day, couldn't have been 3-4, not at full throttle. I was accelerating pretty quickly, and may have let up on the throttle quite a bit earlier than 124 mph.
