Just signed up! What a great place for Riv info.
I've got a 98 SC Riv, have had it for about 6 years.
What a great car!
Wish I had bought one when they were new!
I just finished changing both front hub bearings, because I was getting a "roaring " noise, mainly when I turned right.
Its been getting worse slowly over time.
IT Still makes the noise, only on right turns ,under acceleration.
(I bought Timken bearings).
Any ideas anyone on what to check or replace next??
Thanks for any ideas!

yeah, the CV's are what I was thinking next but they dont make the usual clicking noises.
I've got right at 150k on the car, so that sounds like a real possibility to me.
I need to change the rack and pinion also, it gets hard to turn sometimes to the left, always has since I owned it. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep an ear on the CV'S!

welcome!!!

I agree, probably cv half shaft.

One of the many great things about this group is most of our cars have roughly similar mileage and use so when something goes on one...it follows through just about every other similar year and mileage. Notice differences in 94-96 group and 97-98 groups maybe because of mileage, series I vs II and 4l60 4l65 trannys.

Mod's are cool too!

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll probably change both side in the near future, guess it can't hurt.
I'l post some pics soon. The only mods I have done was to change the SC pulley smaller and to make a CAI box with a K&N filter.Made a HUGE difference.Yeah, what a great place to get info for the Rivi!
Thanks again everybody!!
