Lost power. S/C grind Empty
PostSubject: Lost power. S/C grind   Lost power. S/C grind EmptyThu Apr 19, 2012 7:44 pm

I don't have the rattling sound but I do now have a slight grind/rubbing type of noise and the boost is pretty weak. I'm pretty sure I'm not getting the 7-9 psi out of my s/c. I will soon purchase a boost gauge to find out exactly what I'm getting. I never before put s/c oil in, I have 168k, I just changed plugs and wires, boost solenoid is opening up while reving up and I have a small manifold intake leak. Quite a bummer without full power...any suggestions anyone?

have you tried removing the belt and spinning the pulley by hand to see if something is catching?

Btw. I do get the chirping on the start-up but it eventually quiets down. So you think it may be the tentioner pulley? Or the pulley on the snout of the s/c? Educate me please shocked

Also, while its running I can put my hand on the cover of the s/c and feel what may be the grind/rubbing sound
Was kinda hoping I could add s/c oil and it stops confused

Please add at least the year of your car to your signature, and activate it. Year and SC or NA is minimum important information for anyone helping with your issue.

I did remove belt and I did find that there was about 1/4 of play twisting pulley back and forth. Guess its the coupler. Thanks for the tips guys.
