Junkyard Trip

Today i am going to stop by a junkyard a few towns over from me. I want to look for a 92-93 supercharged 3800 to get a 2.55 supercharger pulley and possibly the tensioner pulley along with it. Any ideas of what else i should look for or what i should expect to pay for these? I was thinking 20 bucks for both together. Is that reasonable?

I'm also going to be on the lookout for some lighter wheels.

Sadly the junkyard i went to did not have a single series 1 l67, and they only had one riviera that had the interior stripped and the engine and transmission gone. I'll have to look for another. I thought for sure they would have a park avenue ultra or an ssei with a series 1.

Bad luck! Junkyards are a kind of mechanical lottery--often you come up empty, but sometimes you hit the jackpot.

Yeah i was kinda surprised, because they had a lot of cars! The guy told me that he only had 3 superchargers in the whole lot, and he had already sold two of them. The other he had on the desk and it was a 3rd generation m62, just like mine, so there was no point in buying a pulley that is the same size as mine.

my local pick and pull only has one Riv in our body style! hope to scavenge it next week!

Hey Gmann, what junkyard do you go to? I have found a few Rivis at the Summit U pick a part by my area. I have gotten lucky and taken advantage of being a toolkit member and have gotten 50% off a few times on parts.

I have an Eaton M62 from the 3800 series I L67 The junk yard that's near me have like three-to-five of them series one L67's how many do ya need

Glenn-If that Riv has a rear passenger side window moulding (the one that sits at the bottom of the window. is chrome with the black rubber flap on top) can you snag it for me? Let me know what they want for it. Can't be much I'm guessing.

I've been to the pick and pull in summit , not far from 1st ave. I'd like to find some more... used to go to a place out near Blue Island cant remember the name.

Yep thats the one. Thers also one out in Hammond. I checked inventory and they have 3 Rivis at Hammond. '95, '96, & '97 I havent seen them tho. I think I'm going to take a trip out there this Sunday because I need the ABS clockspring for my Rivi.. I'll update you if I make it out there..
