| OK... I ordered an A/C compressor from Auto zone last November. and now I'm laying under the car and find that the plug is not only in a different place but its a different shape! What the hell! I made my order over the phone and was told this was an exact mach to whats on the car... what now? do I have to send this back and hope they Give me a refund? or is this the way it is and I have ti find a pig tail ti splice in??? It was supposed to be plug and play! not a bitch!!! Its been 96-103 for about a week and a half! I want my A/C! :mad : This is what I have  A better shot  | |

| Yes, that's the old compressor and plug... its in the back. the new one has an squarish
oval sided plug in next to the clutch pulley at the front, belt side... | |

| The plug on the back is a pressure switch you may have to replace from your old one. The plug up front is for the coil for the clutch. | |

maybe you could send the pictures to the Autozone and let them find the correctly-plugged compressor. maybe you could look up the compressor on rockauto.com (they ahve pictures of most parts) and tell the Autozone what the part number are so they can cross-reference to the right one. this would not be the first time autozone's parts book has an error and they know it, just be patient (but do not procrastinate) and they will work with you to get it right. | |

I know, I know... but $350 to do it my self beats $800 for the mechanic to do it. I used to be a mechanic about 17 years ago... The right tools and parts and the job goes well, but when you cant get your hands on the exact mach.... Its a bitch! according to both Autozone and Rock auto this is an exact OEM replacement...  And the $$$ is without the vac and charge of Freon. the guy I go to will charge $100 labor and Freon any one else I tried wanted another $200... | |
