| I think the mirrors and wheels exchange, but not any other exterior parts. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Goodness, I wish! The Aurora's bumper would look perfect on the Riv, in my opinion! | |

| It's much more minimal of a bumper and doesn't JUT out like the Riv's. I also like the angle it finishes the car with and the way it shapes the exhaust. I definitely think it's something worth investigating. A photochop would be interesting... | |

| So you know how the corvette is all fiberglass? Would it be possible to mold and reconstruct the Riv with a fiberglass/carbon fiber/whatever body and drop weight? What will it take to get her down to ~3,500lbs? | |

| Sure, it's been done: https://rivperformance.editboard.com/t481-john-schmidt-s-tubbed-rivieraBut to get her down to 3500 lb, all you need to do is gut the interior. Rivs have a unibody structure, so it's not that easy to replace fenders and roof panels with lightweight materials. You could replace the hood, but it's already pretty light. You could replace the trunk lid, but then you're even more front heavy. Rebuilding the doors are an option, if you can get the windows and locks to work. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| my Riv weighed, before the coil-over set up,3520 lbs. now it must be an estimated 50 to 60 lbs lighter than that. i have removed nothing from the interior. I plan to install the Fbody front alu calipers in the rear with a Wilwood spot caliper like this to replace the E-brake.hooks rite up to the factory E-brake cable
http://wilwood.com/Calipers/CaliperProd.aspx?itemno=120-1360
should drop another 20lbs or so.

Can you please post some pics of your work? I'm quite curious. Thank you!!! You think you cut ~400lbs of holes and metal off your Riv?

| gee Charlie,I dont know where all the posts of what I did are? most of what I did I think are in the F-body mod and my Adjustable coilover set up. heres a pic of the certified weigh sheet from the Cat Scale at the TA in Vegas. this is before the instalation of the coilovers and the F-body kit. come to think of it,I have no idea what she weighs now? I,m guessing alot less. yup! for all you weight freaks..there it is! | |

Your weigh-in of 3,520lbs is quite impressive to me. OEM curb weight is ~3,788 lb. So you're saying you CUT around 200lbs off your Riv? Can you please share and tell us what parts of the car? Like, the metal between the back seat and trunk or the doors or back fenders or where?

| I dont even remember? just the F-body mod and the coilovers cut a substantial amount off the car.the rssa mod and the adjustable links..etc..etc..all add up to a big fat number.3520. read it and weep! | |

| I can make it there.at this point it boils down to extreme mods to further lighten the load. on the list. Alu P/S pump.should shave a few pounds http://www.jegs.com/i/Borgeson/153/800302/10002/-1 only problem/solution,with this pump is you have to switch to AN fittings and remote reservoir.cool but expensive. Alu front subframe-- big bucks to have a shop fab one up in alu! big bucks! F-body caliper converted to the rear.easy to do really, figure out a bracket and add a spot caliper for E-brake and voila! convert rear control arm to thin wall chrome-moly tubing.the rear alu control arms weigh a whopping 15 lbs each.30 pounds of solid alu! ridiculous! thin wall steel tubing could drop that by more than half and twice as strong.again, big bucks to get a shop to fab that up! a sub 3200 lb Riv is acheivable but difficult. where there's a will there's a way.
