Just a heads-up from the Sunshine/ we hate you state. There's been a lot of chatter in the service side about E85 causing problems in Flex fuel vehicles over the past day or two. Apparently it's causing lean codes and making the vehicles run rough. The initial thought from everyone is that CA put in a new additive that caused the problems. I'll keep you all posted if anything else comes of it.

False alarm. What's changed is that Flex Fuel is no longer standard in GM trucks. So if you get one without a yellow gas cap, it's not Flex Fuel equipped. Thanks to this forum, when it came up in my store, I actually knew what I was talking about, unlike one of the managers who just made the situation worse when one of our customers just assumed that his truck was Flex Fuel equipped and filled up a whole tank.
Unfortunately, this also means that GM is continuing to nickle and dime their products out of basic features that are a serious bonus for most people. The Regals with the 2.0 Turbo no longer come Flex Fuel capable and the GNX likely won't be, when it comes in 2016 or 17.
Working at GM continually makes me want to go to Detroit and hold a picket sign that says, "WHY YOU DO DIS?"

Maybe this means that E85 isn't all they cracked it up to be a few years ago?

Eh, I think it was when it was significantly cheaper than gas, but then capitalism swung too far and the decreased fuel economy made it a deal-breaker for most people. As for forced air induction vehicles like the Regal and the GNX, I can't think of a reason not to get it. It's what $300 in parts? Why not make that accessible on vehicles that will benefit from it the most?
But what do I know, I just hauk the product.

Yeah, the very high octane is a bonus, but everything else about it doesn't seem that practical. I'd love to be able to buy E-0 again... but I'll have to move to another state for that.
