I agree with the whole uniqueness point. That's why I actually considered it. But I would rather go fast than be unique. Sure the 3800 could get it moving, but a nice V8 could get it hauling. If you have the materials already of course it would be easier, but if you had a Camaro with a blown engine (regardless if it's a V6 or a V8) without a 3800 or an LS sitting around, which would you choose?

Depends on the car and the build. A "berlinetta" for commuting, I'd go 3800. A z28, I'd go build a fire breathing 8.
