Reasonable mods for a 96 Empty
PostSubject: Reasonable mods for a 96   Reasonable mods for a 96 EmptyFri Oct 23, 2020 8:01 am

Relative newbie here. From looking at posts I can tell that this forum has been around a long time and whatever mods can be done have been done by someone in the past. I'm looking for advice from long time members. Is it best to just leave the engine stock or are there some relatively easy and inexpensive changes that benefit the engine without compromising reliability. My car has 130,000 miles.
Thanks in advance for any advice

I see the shift kit for the transmission on rockauto. Is that a good mod and is it something that can be put in by me with the transmission in the car? Thanks

I would not do a shift kit. The tuner will firm up the shifts and I would raise the 2-3 and 3-4 shifts. Also raise the mph on the lockup converter and the car will feel much better.
