International Meet of the Riviera Owners Association

Just wanted to get this out there for anyone interested.

sweet! i would love to go but its a long haul, i'll have to see when it gets closer. i guess its only like 500 miles. (or one tank of gas )

I have made it to four of the last seven. It has been a good time for all, the ones I have been to anyway.
They rotate, East Coast, Mid-West, and then West. It was in SC in 2000, WI in '01, OR in '02, then a special stop in Flint, MI for the 100th Anniv. in '03. Then the rotation started again PA in '04, AR in '05 and AZ in '06. I have made it to the East and Mid-West ones, as much as I enjoyed them I figured if it is within 1000 miles I'd try and make it. This will be the shortest distance I've gone for one, I kind of influenced the selection this year.

Randall, I'd love to attend, but will have to wait for one that's a bit closer.

I wanna see if I can make it too. Thats a far drive though. Maybe it will be worth it.

For those of you going...I just wanted to say, "Have a safe trip and take lots of pics for me. If the late model riv w/ the V-8 is there again this year PLEASE get some pics and info on it! You guys have fun. I'll be traveling back from Cali that weekend. Wish I could be there, but I'll catch it next year when it's in the midwest!

Randall, Is the 95 going to be ready? How many rivs are you taking this year?

I'm not going to be going. Can't get work off that week.

NO!
I found out yesterday that the guy we were going to have shoot the paint is not going to be able to do it!
He said he might be able to in about three weeks... him!
We were going to have him do it since he has a better place to paint, it has been ready for three weeks and now we can't find anyone to do it by this weekend, which would only give me a week to get it back together, so it isn't going to make it!

I'll just take the Silver Arrow and see how it goes.
I haven't heard if GM is bringing the show cars to the meet this year or not but if they do I'll get some pics.

Next years is about 200 miles less for you than me and I'm going to try my best to make that one, maybe bring two to it, just have to wait and see.

Next years will be a little less than 600 miles for you ,
not like the 1300 miles it would be for you to make it to this years.

Sorry to hear that, Randall. That really sucks! That would be the perfect event to show it with fresh paint too.

I really can't say, I kind of found out by accident, it got posted on the ROA website for an hour or so and I just happened to see it. Everyone will know in 11 days, lets just say it is just over 750 miles from you.

This year would be just over 900 miles, next years meet moves to the Mid-West that would make it 1150 miles from Quincy, MA.
The way it works is the meet rotates so the next time for the East will be 2010.
The meet in 2004 was in Lancaster, PA a little less than 400 miles for you, maybe it will return to the north east the next time?

See you in 2010 if not sooner.

Not even early registration until tomorrow, so not too much going on so far. Lots of Rivs here already though. I'll find out tomorrow about next year and post it then.

GM has brought five cars, still not sure which ones yet, Silver Arrow III I do know, it is the only one off of the trailer today. I think I saw the '83 Indy Pace car also.
Will post pictures at the end of the week. There are quite a few of the last gen. here already too, should be an interesting show.
