While looking at the front end to see if I can find a noise source, I noticed this plug was undone..... I've never unplugged this myself... what is it? Front passenger side, right above the axle....

Thinking last night. I think it's the a/c compressor. It was right below the compressor I believe...gotta be that.

But, WTF.... how did it become unplugged? Odd.... It's plugged back in now though...

That is the oil pressure sending unit. Much easier if you look at if from a different angle you will notice it is screwed into the oil filter housing adapter.

The cam sensor is below and slightly left of the WP pulley, usually only found with your fingers.

what does the oil pressure sending unit do then? Like I said, I never unplugged it, and never had a light on the dash telling me something was amiss...

Odd.

Odd.

it only controls the idiot light...by turning it on after your oil pressure has dropped so low your engine is toast.

I replaced my sensor with a fitting runningto an oil pressure guage. My idiot light never came on when I unhookedthe sensor...so it was useless anyways. I would have not gotten a light, only a cooked engine.

Default on a bad sender is usually pegged high.

Most likely your pcm thinks you are running 120+ psi. with it unplugged.

Yeah, once the light goes on you are about 8 minutes from a seized engine.
