Anyone here that hasn't done their FWI yet, ever make a few passes with your air filter removed? I won't have my FWI done in time for Saturday, so I'm thinking I might take out the K&N for a couple passes. I wouldn't do it in the fall when there's a lot of trash/leaves blowing around, but the risk should be minimal right now.

so are you just going to disconnect thh air box, angle the intake hose up and run it like that? i'm sure it would be max flow but is it worth the risk? you may be sucking in more air than the MAF can handle.

I've seen it done, but imo running sans filter is not worth the risk with a roots blower. The M90 has an epoxy coating on the rotors that could be damaged by particles entering the intake. If your MAF screen has been removed, larger foreign matter could cause a potentially disastrous situation.

Matthew, only the filter would be removed, and the box put back in place. It would draw air the same as a stock setup, from the fenderwell, but no filter.

Aaron, my maf screen is back in place, but you're probably right, not worth the risk.
