| is anybody running ZZP's Phenolic Blower Spacer? Sounds pretty simple, and i was considering getting it. My rivi is gonna be my daily, but i wanna do a few more mods, but i dont want to drop a crazy amount of money. What do you guys think? | |

| It's one of those mods that probably helps, but most don't bother with it. It's probably not necessary with the Riviera's airbox design, which is like a CAI. With a FWI, I don't see the need to insulate the TB, but every little bit helps.
When ZZP came out with it, many were seeing coolant leaks from the TB where the spacer was installed. | Are you talking about the Throttle Body Spacer kit they sell.? If so, I have a Brand New, never used one for sale. I thought I would use it but then bought a Gen V SC instead. PM me if your interested in a good deal. | |

no one on here that i know of uses it, but i'll still second what Aaron said. | Rick, you brought up a good point. I thought he was talking about the TB spacer too, but there is actually a blower spacer they came out with in '09 for $100 - it installs like an IC core. Wow, seems like a lot of work for just a spacer. Hope it works! Sorry for the misunderstanding, Bryan. The blower spacer might work, I have no experience with it - like the TB spacer, it should work in theory. Maybe search around at other forums to see of anyone has used one and let us know what you find out. I'd like to know, as I plan to remove my blower this year for some P&P work. | I'm curious, has anyone installed the 1/4" blower spacer? I'm not thinking that the heat-soak is a big deal, but for those of us in a mild climate, I should think that not having 180+ degree coolant circulating through the throttle body would be a very good think for KR... Also, the 1/4" job shouldn't require any re-plumbing, should it? Finally, I haven't heard about TB-spacers before... Are they for blocking off the coolant flow as well? | |

| Something to be aware of... Scott (abaddon) informed me that blocking off the coolant passage to the throttle body may keep coolant from reaching the part of the rear head. I have not confirmed this, but it's something to be aware of. The idea of a spacer seems plausible, but blocking off the coolant concerns me. | I've found, as far as coolant flow, that on the series 2, you can block the coolant passages to the TB, and the coolant will still flow fine to the rear heads. If you are worried about the lack of those little .25" holes for flow, its easy enough to open things up under the end cap at the end of your LIM to more than make up for it.
Of note: On the series ONE, if you block coolant flow to the TB in any way, you will be blocking ALL coolant flow down the center coolant passage. Rear heads are still fine, but that extra passage that the series 2 doesn't have, will be at a standstill. However, you can make changes as well under the end cap to open flow again if you DO block the TB holes. _________________ | |
