| Hello,
I just picked this car up today for a cheap trade. Now I have a million questions about it but I figured I will start with the main ones so I can atleast get it running.
Issue #1 Cars steering column is definitely broken. it moves side to side and up and down all over. So that sucks.
Issue #2 Main issue is the car will crank but not turn over, after a second I hear what sounds like an air pump or something kick on and run. I hope that isnt my fuel pump because its pretty loud and doesnt sound like a normal fuel pump. It will continue to turn on and run even after I have turn the key to off and taken it out of the ignition and get out of the car. Any clues as to what this is?
The PO said until yesterday the car was running great, now when i try and start the car the yellow security light flashes at me the whole time im trying until I take the keys from the ignition and get out of the car and shut the doors. I am wondering if that is an issue?
I have a list of all the maintenance that was recently done to it on the 20th Ful tune up, new belts, plugs, oil, filters, etc. Catalytic converter was replaced, Ignition module was just replaced, shocks, sway bar, link pins, control arms, bushings, and brakes/lines all replaced. Anyone see anything there that could be an issue as to why it wouldnt start?

| The Security light that's flashing. I'm pretty confident that's why the car won't start. Either there's something wrong with the key or key cylinder, or the broken steering column is bad enough that a wire broke inside of it somewhere. I would try a spare key if you have one, and see if it starts.
If it ran the other day, and now all of a sudden the column is messed up, and the car won't start, you may want to to take off the column shrouds and have a lil look-see...

| Checked under the shrouds and everything seems to be ok. When I put the key in the ignition and turn it to on, not start, after all the lights go off except the traction control off, check engine, and security lights. | |

| Also from the time I open the door, crank the car, give up and shut the door to go inside my house, there is a constant sound coming from the rear end of the car, makes me think its the fuel pump but its a lot louder like an air compressor almost?? any clue wtf that is? | |

That's the air compressor at the R/S rear. It inflates the air shocks to level the rear suspension (automatic level control). If the shocks are leaking/bad, or the lines are leaking, the compressor will run for several minutes. _________________ 98 Riviera SC3800 All stock except gutted air box. 1970 Buick GS455 Stage1, TSP built 470BBB, 602HP/589TQ Best MPH, 116.06 MPH, Best ET, 11.54 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHCda-t_Jls https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfT2tEO4XcU
