| I'd pay $150 for an intake of that quality, maybe more.
I'm not going to fudge around trying to make my own. My gutted box will have to do until somone makes a real nice one like TType did here, for other members.
I just don't trust PVC. | |

| $250 including filter? If so, I'd pay that too.
No filter, then I'd have to wait. Someone quoted me $200 on just the intake, to make one for me that is. He would have done a great job, but I didn't want to spend that money right then. | |

| It was with filter, but it doesn't matter really. Rob's not making these at the moment. Still. gives you an idea of what something similar would cost. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| ok so im going to have my dad build me an FWI. He recommends thin stainless 4" Piping(aluminum allows too much heat) and I went to autozone and seen a 4" Spectre filter just like in T types picture above. Does this sound like a good plan? | |

| yea that'll really suck! I built a 4" shorty intake with spectre stuff. A 4" FWI will be a bit of a challenge thought because they don't have anything you can directly puzzle together that will work. That's where I gave up and left it. If you cut and manipulate the pieces more, it could be done. | |

| no im just going to buy stainless piping, and do all the bends and stuff by myself, and just use a spectre filter. | |

| sorry for the double post, but i was thinking, is there even any reason to have a 4" intake? Since it does through the throttle body at 3", its only going to allow so much in at a time. | |

| I've used the 3.5" SS intake (shown on first page of this thread) and my engine seems happy so far. I think 4" would flow a little better, but probably overkill and looks goofy, imo. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |
