| Hello, I am having issues with my 95 riv. It seems to want to run between 200 and 240(on hills). I have tried 1 heat range colder plugs but strangeky enough they seem to make it run about 5 degrees hotter???????????? Any help would be appreciated. | |

\ Colder plugs will only help to alleviate spark knock (mainly on modified engines), not make the engine run colder. A lower temperature thermostat will allow the engine to run cooler, given that everything is in proper working order. It's not uncommon to see around 220* on a real, real hot day. Do your cooling fans come on? It's possible that they're inoperative, causing the little bit of "over" heating. | |

When you say "on hills", is this when running at highway and greater road speeds? Are you climbing steep grades repetitively? It could be a number of reasons. Check coolant level first. Then possible radiator blockage. Then we can go from there. | |
