Hello, I am having issues with my 95 riv. It seems to want to run between 200 and 240(on hills). I have tried 1 heat range colder plugs but strangeky enough they seem to make it run about 5 degrees hotter???????????? Any help would be appreciated.bonk

Colder plugs will only help to alleviate spark knock (mainly on modified engines), not make the engine run colder. A lower temperature thermostat will allow the engine to run cooler, given that everything is in proper working order. It's not uncommon to see around 220* on a real, real hot day.

Do your cooling fans come on? It's possible that they're inoperative, causing the little bit of "over" heating.

When you say "on hills", is this when running at highway and greater road speeds? Are you climbing steep grades repetitively?
It could be a number of reasons.

Check coolant level first. Then possible radiator blockage. Then we can go from there.
