I drove to Birmingham Friday and picked up the Riviera from the body shop. The guys at Sherrill's Body Shop did a fantastic job! When they first looked at the car, they were concerned about the removal and replacement of the chrome trim around the front wheel wells and the removal of the script trim that says Riviera behind the doors. As feared, the Riviera script on the passenger side broke during removal. Also the chrome trim along the front wheel wells does not fit properly.
Question 1: Are new trim pieces available???
Saturday I worked most of the day replacing the ABS/Traction Control Hydraulic Valve Modulator (without letting one drop of brake fluid touch the new paint!) and installing the new rotors, powder coated calipers, and Akebono pads. All went well there, except the pads shipped for the rear were the wrong pads in the right box. That will throw me back a week or so waiting for the correct pads for the rear. Mounted the existing tires (the only thing on the car that was good) on the new rims, so now I have 4 OEM rims with lug nuts and center caps left over.
Question 2: Is there a market for the OEM rims and center caps?? Absolutely no curb rash on the rims. The caps are fair. I will ship to someone for free if they would pay for the shipping.
Hoping now that the Traction Control Off light goes off now that I have installed a rebuilt hydraulic valve. The black car with red calipers and drilled rotors with chrome spoke wheels really look good. That is one sexy ride! I took pictures but have not yet broke the code to figure out how to post.
