| I believe problem is that you're not using the latest version of DHP (should be something like 1.2.4). That version unlocked all cars right before they went out of business. There is a way you can edit the registry to unlock it, but I'm not sure how to do it, along with it being questionably legal. If you are running the latest version, I can't help you. | |

| I think I have a .bin for a 98 riviera. I have one for light mods, and may have the stock one. PM me your email address. Be patient, I don't check on here too often anymore. Did it for a local car club member, and ran into the same issues you did. | |

| You need DHP software 1.2.4 for starters. Not easy to find, but lucky for you I have it in my public dropbox folder.
I'll send you a PM with the link.

How do you know "theft mode" has been enabled? | Ha! I didn't even notice the '99 part. OMG. That's an issue right there... He's working on a PAU, not a Riv.

| I see you didn't PM me. You don't need a VATS delete because your car has Pass Key 3, not VATS. I'll email you a working stock 1998 PAU .bin as well as one optimized for bolt-ons on a 98 PAU (I highly recommend it). Others (including dealerships) have also had issues with the PAU and No-starts after the load. With PK3, the PCM and PK3 module use a password and some even have a challenging password. It's the calibration that contains the type of Security System and the type of signal the PCM receive form the BCM, VATS, PK3, IPC. If a PCM has ever been installed in a car it learns a unique set of passwords. The PCM and the PK3 module will only work in that car unless it is reset with TIS. For example, If you take a PCM from car A and reprogram it with a calibration for car B it will work provided you disable security, its just how you go about that that is different with PK3. Since you are using your PCM in your car you shouldn't have an issue. When you flash your PCM with DHP, the PK3 password SHOULD be left intact in the PCM. That means you shouldn't need to do the security relearn every time you do an update to the tune like people did a few years ago. Other GM systems -like the one used in the Riviera- don't use a password like the PK3 does, so we've never really had that kind of issue, or needed to do a relearn.
The workaround (which is the part I'm sure you care about) is to leave Passkey values stock, Set injector time to "0", Set all related DTC's to no report (un 'x'd). I have read that from time to time it doesn't and you need to change the passkey to NONE.
I don't want to come off as a jerk (I really want to help you), but try to follow directions exactly. I don't want to read this subsection of the forum in its entirety, so the PM was so I get an alert. If you have issues with the tune I sent you, please just respond to the email I sent you. I don't want to tell you how to suck eggs, but if you're unsure of how the DHP tuner works, read up on it. I "should" have come with instructions. I also have a .pdf how-to if required (request via email). It's not rocket science, but if you mess up, you will end up bricking your PCM. For example, did you back-up your stock tune or did you wipe it when you (for some reason) uploaded the 99 tune ?
