| I Need to remove the motor mount so I can change one of my pulleys that keep on squeeling. The one that is right behind the passenger side motor mount, so I have to remove the motor mount. I have no more ideas how to get it out, I've been trying for the last 2 hours. This mount is different then the one in our rivs and its a PITA. Please someone help me so i can try to put my car back to gether so I can make it to work tonight. | |

| Is there a PA board or forum you can consult? I don't know of anyone here with a PA or knowledge of how this is done on that car. | |

| I've already tried regalgs.org and they have nothing but I have noticed that there are a few riv owners here who also have PA Ultra's so Im just hoping one of them will see this and beable to help me out. I have been going crazy to find any help on this car. Because their are no forums for just Park Ave's, and its different then my 98Riv, that was a piece of cake to do this job. I just figured it out and it was a PITA, but if anyone knows of any how to's on Park Ave's please let me know for future reference. | |

| I've done the PA, it's the same as the Riv. You need to hoist the engine, so you can undo the through bolt, then lower the engine so you can get the lower bolt/stud off the bracket (the spacer down there will allow the belt through once the stud is out), new belt in, then put the bracket back together, then hoist it back up to put the big bolt back in the rubber mount.
Sorry I don't have any pics to go along with it, but it's the same procedure as with the Riv. The one thing I HATE about these.

| Can't the lifting/lowering be done with a regular floor jack? | |

| Yes, he didn't mean an actual HOIST. Use a good floor jack. | |

| I thought the PA was the same as the bonne. No need to lift or lower. Just pull the spacer and you should be able to slide. | |

| depends on condition of the mounts. Use a floor jack anyway, and please be sure to put a relatively large and flat block of wood (a 1' long 2x4 will work) on the jack stirrup/pad to be sure you don't dent the oil pan.

| The first time I did this I used a long 2x6 on the bottom of the oil pan. Very shortly after my oil pan gasket was leaking. Use a HOIST, not a jack.
My mother had a '98 PA NA, and the procedure was exactly the same as for my '98 Riv, just one less belt.

| Hmmm... why do you think it started leaking?
I am not saying don't use a hoist. I am saying please tell me why using the jack causes the oil pan gasket to fail. Because I am thinking next time I change belts I will rig a hoist of some sort, I respect what you say and I do not want to have a drippy oil pan. Point is that just because I got away with jacking it it once does not make it OK later - but I want to know why that (leaking)happened. Like, does the pan distort or some such?
Thanks for the warning

| You squish the gasket when you jack up the engine by the pan, then open a leak when you let the jack down. Plus the first time you do this, it's up down up down up down until you realize the bolt doesn't slide out while it's up and all that... I'm sure that's why it started leaking.
maybe once or twice you can get away with it, but I won't do it anymore.
