Would like to see some pictures of that Graphite Interior though. VERY NICE! Clean Interior AND Clean under the Hood! A VERY NICE find! Looks as good as my '95 under the hood, did you do that yourself or was it that clean from the PO? Once again, a very nice find!

Added a couple interior and engine compartment pic to showroom post. Obtained 1995 brochure indicates, exterior "Bright White" available with: Adriatic Blue, Platinum Beige, Jadestone, Graphite, & Dark Red interiors in either "Prestwick cloth or Optional Sierra-grain leather. Sure appreciate the comments received! Eventually I'd like my sig line to read with FWI, 104's and a 180 stat. Until then I'm focused on detailing and changing out the fluids. Thanks again for such a great site and comments.

| Beautiful car ... There are still a few nice ones out there. Congratulations. If it were mine...I'd keep mods to a minimum on a car like that. | |

Before wire rerouting
Correct wire routing (thanks 99Rivman) Looks good! I think it just gives it a cleaner look Not sure why the wires might have been "above" it? Maybe someone did some work to it and just didn't put them back? Who knows?

| The little clip that holds together the three rear plug wires even has a little clip that holds them in guide below the snout. I've seen a lot of people just reroute em over the top, much cleaner below. Looks really nice and clean! | |

I'm working on obtaining seven spoke chromes. Viewing a set this Friday, no inserts but if wheels are the claimed condition A/A- , I'll grab em and commence a "hub hunt".

| Jim, I'm not sure how I missed your topic here. Your car looks incredibly new and beautiful! Was it delivered new in Walla Walla? Moore Buick? Do you know the full history? Is this one intended as your daily driver, or is it your plan to preserve it as a collector-type car?
I look forward to seeing this car -- and meeting you -- someday during the year ahead.

| Hey Brian, Original delivery to and sale by "Dale Graves" GMC here in Walla Walla. I'm positive I test drove this very car when new. At that time, wife had more conservative vehicle and financial plans. It ended up selling and staying locally. Saw it on occasion, but didn't (don't) personally know the owners. OP'ers took reasonable care with it and had it faithfully serviced. IMG, batt, tires, rear shocks, replaced. Garaged but has some parking lot door dings. OP (wife) returned rivy to dealer for sale, downsizing and hubby no longer able to drive. (???) I saw it, drove it again (playing Springsteen's "Glory Days" in my mind). Returned it and walked (sulked) away again. A couple days later, my best wife in the whole wide world asked to go for a drive. When asked where and why, she advised we had a pick-up to make. She'd bought it and it needed someone to drive it home! Soo, it's not a daily driver, but not a complete garage queen either. I'm focused on detailing and stock reliability. Promised my wife I'd take her for ice cream anytime in it! Great seeing your beautiful riv, she's a beauty (and those wheel photo's fantastic!!!), and all the other rivs posted on this great site. Show gathering ??, perhaps as a spectator, (mine doesn't compare). A coordinated WA plated "Rivy River Run" gathering (to somewhere) DEFINITELY | |

| Jim, thank you for the great back story on your Riviera! Your car absolutely compares, and it would be a thrill to gather the 8th Generation Pacific Northwest Rivieras together for our own little Riviera Rendezvous. Let's keep this concept in mind as we look ahead to 2014.
(Mine promises to see plenty of use as my new daily driver. Over the last 25 years, I've learned that the 3800-powered Buicks are tough to beat as a total package of affordable price, reliability, comfort, and fuel efficiency.)
Your wife sounds like a gem, and it's wonderful that she made your Riviera dreams come true. I can relate, since my lovely wife offered great encouragement to me about buying my Riviera. She's thankful that I'm enjoying it so much, even venturing to say that I deserve it. I'm not sure I really deserve it, but who's to argue?!
Like yours, mine has a few door dings that detract from the car's otherwise fine appearance, so I've obtained a quote at a local paintless dent repair business. They've quoted about $350 to remove all the door dings, and I'll discuss this idea with my wife. I suspect that she'll be all for it. I find myself being very careful to park where the car will be least vulnerable to future dings.
I hope I've not derailed your topic here, but your photos and story inspired further conversation about these great Rivieras, and I know you can understand that.

| Some of us can only hope to be so lucky someday with such supporting spouses. My girlfriend, I fear, see's ourselves in somewhat of a Tim and Jill Taylor situation a la Tool Time w/ regards to the Riv haha My 95 is not at all perfect, but it's a lot more perfect than when I bought it Mine was a Valencia, Ca car until the original owner moved up here by Monroe and her son sold it to me...a cool $1200 and 97k miles. Fell in love the instant I drove up. This is the first car I've owned and I'm hoping to maintain it and hold onto it for as long as I'm still on the road one way or another. I.Love.This.Car. It's definitely a daily driver...as I drive it everywhere. Started at 97k miles a year and 2 months ago and I'm now rolling over 114,500. Scary to think but I just can't stop driving it. When I'm not driving it, I'm foolishly taking pictures of it or just lustily staring at it, imagining I'm behind the wheel I realistically could use a whole new paint job...pretty badly in some places. Since having the car I've rebuilt the transmission, replaced all the tires, radiator, thermostat, heating/cooling hoses etc, plugs, wires, brake rotors, calipers, customized the interior, new fenderwell intake, currently redoing idler and tensioner pulleys, ac, power steering, water pump, supercharger coupler, bearing, and pulley, belts, stereo, sequential lighting, revising fwi...I'm not afraid to invest my time and money in a car like this. A modern classic that gives me so much enjoyment with peace of mind. I love my Riv and I'm really happy to see everybody else loving theirs as well I would love to get together with the 8th gen guys up here in the northwest. No travel is too far when you drive a Riv! | |
