| It is colder than old billie hell here and when it is cold the shift release button is too stiff to push- I have to smack it with my hand to free it up. Is there a fix for this- I think my previous '98 did the same thing. Thanks Gene | |

| Gene I live in the Midwest too and have had the same problem. Maybe some wd40 would help keep it from locking up | |

| I kinda think it has something to do with the interlock with the brake- so you have to have your foot on the brake pedal to shift out of park. Gene | |

| Try tapping the brake pedal repeatedly until you hear the interlock release. It could be the lock solenoid failing. | |
