Shift 'button' stiff in cold weather? Empty

It is colder than old billie hell here and when it is cold the shift release button is too stiff to push- I have to smack it with
my hand to free it up. Is there a fix for this- I think my previous '98 did the same thing. Thanks Gene

Gene I live in the Midwest too and have had the same problem. Maybe some wd40 would help keep it from locking up

I kinda think it has something to do with the interlock with the brake- so you have to have your
foot on the brake pedal to shift out of park. Gene

You don't have me beat for cold, and I never have had this issue.

Try tapping the brake pedal repeatedly until you hear the interlock release. It could be the lock solenoid failing.
