Passenger Side Molding Question Empty
PostSubject: Passenger Side Molding Question   Passenger Side Molding Question EmptyTue Feb 25, 2014 9:46 am

Hi -
I found a car that im interested in purchasing, problem is the passenger side molding has been stripped off.
She says you can find it on GM parts direct but I havent found it, or perhaps my wording is incorrect.
Can someone tell me how hard this is to find for a Gold colored car?
I dont want to buy the car just to find out this cant be replaced.

Thanks!

On gmpartsdirect, click on the catalog link and search there, instead of trying a part #/description on the main page.

To find this piece already painted, you likely need to search salvage yards, GM is likely not pre-painted.

Assuming you are looking at a 95-99 Riviera... gmpartsdirect shows the door body side molding as not available.

If they are colored differently than your car I'd get a rattle can made to your color code along with a can of clear. I found a few pieces at my local picknpull before. I'm pretty sure you can find it.

Be very careful when removing them, the spring clips are sturdier than the molding. Pictures of the molding and clips can be found here ...

They can be painted if a different color, but I would be sure you are able to get one with all of the pins intact!

Good point rivman. I had to use a combo of 3m tape and molding adhesive to make sure it didn't fall off. Not what I wanted but it worked
