All,
Just wanted to throw out an invite to all you Buick enthusiasts that might be looking to attend a Buick event featuring race, show, and fun. The 2014 BPG Nationals is being held at National Trails Raceway In Ohio. If you'd like to have a Riviera racing class and also a separate show class, the club would be happy to do so. We have an awful lot of fun and many of us (myself included) have appreciation for both old Buick iron and the later production models of the Riviera. Naturally, Regal GS cars or anything with a Buick power plant (we have a Jaguar and a Camaro running Buick Power) are welcome to race.
Our event flier is below and the best place to get up to the minute details or ask questions about the evnt is on the Buick Performance Group Facebook page.
Thanks! And I hope to see some Rivvies ripping down the quarter and also showing off in the car show!
Thanks for the invite, Ken. To our Midwest & Great Lakes area RivPerformance members - this is a really fun time. I've had the privilege of attending the last 2 years. It's great hanging out with Ken, LarryGS, and to meet the owners of some rare and awesome Buicks!
My Riv has recently developed some paint flaking on the rear lip of the trunk, so I may not drive her this time. Hoping I can get that issue squared away before the show. Hope to see a few of you Ohio members at the show this year!
It would be good to see you again! The theme of the BPG is Buicks and Fun. Ive made many good friends from all over the country and even Europe as a result of the club. Racing and car show during the day, band in the hotel parking lot and BBQ at night. Always a big crowd shooting the breeze, kinda like a family reunion.
And not every car is pristine, so some paint flaking is no big deal, Aaron.
Thanks for fixing the flyer. I don't know what happened as I saw it when I posted it this morning. Oh well.

Just want to remind everyone if some superchargers want to take on some turbochargers and some carburetors! Or the superchargers can just beat up on each other.
If it has a Buick engine in it, it's welcome to attend!

I don't know. I REALLY want to, but I'm afraid of breaking things. I'll never get traction anyway...too much torque...

Charlie, this is like three hours from us. I'd be down if you were for one of the days.

Would be cool to see what the superchargers can lay down for times! There's also a car show for those who might want to shine and show.

Mine definitely won't do much shining, but it would be fun to talk to people who are smarter than me and line up with some other Buicks!

It's all one big Buick family. The Nailhead guys, the 455 guys, the turbo guys and the supercharger guys. I cover each except turbos with cars I own. Love them all!

Bro, my 14 second time is an embarrassment, not to mention the condition of my Riv, to all proud Buick owners
Have to think about it..

In the 14's is no embarrassment. Best I ever got out of my '66 Wildcat was about 15.1 or so. Didn't matter I had fun anyway. I've taken concours level cars and cars that needed paint so bad I used Comet, yes Comet, to scrub enough surface rust off to make it presentable. If it says Buick on it, that's all it needs. We are not an elitist club, we just like to have fun and happen to all be Buick nuts! Larry70GS will tell you about the fun we have at this annual event. The hotel parking lot is hopping late into the night.

Like Ken said, we don't care what your car looks like, or how fast or slow it is. That it is a Buick, or Buick powered, is all that matters. This event is a lot of fun, and a great way to meet people you have talked with online. Running your car down the track is a blast, and you learn a lot. I wouldn't worry about breaking anything unless you have sticky tires and hook it up solid. Nothing wrong with rolling it out and nailing it to get a trap speed.
Hope to see you again Aaron.

Yes I hope to meet a few of you guys from here. Alyssa and i will be at the block party at the host hotel but are staying in a different hotel a few miles from the track. Then we'll be there probably until 5 ish Saturday. One of you will have to convince me to run my T-type...
I'm excited for this event! Especially since it's so close to me.

You should run it. I demand it. It needs to win the "loudest whiner" award. And if that's not a thing, it should be. Also many vids need to be taken.

I'm still a little apprehensive, but I think I will take the car down the 1/4 mile...someone should be there to take a video! Hopefully the weather will be good enough! I won't be able to go down the track at any other time except during test and tune.
I will win the Loudest Whiner award, and proudly display the trophy!

I'm going to try. Life (home ownership) is putting me through some challenges at the moment. I give it 50/50. I would like very much to see Larry and Ken again, and to meet Andrew.
