| Subject: Turn signal not blinking after being broadsided... again! Sun Nov 09, 2014 4:03 pm | |
| Long story short, my newest Riv was hit yet again, but this time it was actually parked. Some lady was backing out of her spot at Target, hit the gas instead of the brake, and smoked 3 parked cars behind her, including me (though mine got away with the least damage). Most of the body damage is on the rear quarter panel, with bad scuffs on the bumper and door. The lady gave us all the wrong name and insurance info, so I'm in the process of tracking her down again before I can get my car repaired. In the meantime, ever since the accident, my right turn signal has stopped working. However, all of the lights work, and none of them were damaged in the wreck. It's just that they won't flash. So, when turning right, I have to flick the turn signal manually. My left turn signal, however, is working just fine. Any opinions if this is accident-caused or just a coincidence? Like maybe the big dent in the fender has damaged or shorted something electrical internally? I'm trying not to touch anything until I get an adjuster from her real insurance company out to look at my car. Hopefully that'll happen at some point soon... | |

| Some wiring could have gotten pinched. I'm not sure exactly how it is, but I know there's some that runs under the door sills and into the back seat. | |

| OK, that makes sense. That was my suspicion, but I'm not all too familiar with how the wiring in this car is routed, so I'm glad to get a second opinion! This all may be a blessing in disguise, as the white paint on this fender was starting to peel at the top, and now they owe me a shiny new coat of Diamond White on the bumper, fender, and door. I'm just glad she missed the chrome rims by a hair. The tire sidewall is scuffed but the chrome is intact. | |

| I'd guess you still have a bulb out that you aren't noticing somewhere. I agree that it's possible a wire got pinched, but if it were shorted to ground you'd be blowing a fuse. If the bulbs are lighting up, triple check them. | |
