| Hey guys. I've been around here for quite awhile, and I figured it's finally time to make a thread for my car, especially since it's kind of in the process of being "rebirthed" right now. Here is a picture of my car from a while back. It has one of my phones fancy filters on it. And here are some pictures of my gen V that will be going on the car in a week or so. Let me know what you think! Pictures of fancy new interior coming soon! | |

Coming soon! The gorilla glue didn't hold to my liking, so I used a 2-part epoxy, which should be dry by now. No, I didn't glue the tablet in lol. I'm hard mounting, but not quite THAT hard mounted haha.

| I relocated the ses light to the little vent thing to the right of the steering wheel (I think it's the thing that picks up interior temp?)
I will be running a tablet with torque app and using the simulated volt gauges and such full time, so I figure I'm good there.

The grand prix seats? Dude, it sucked. I would not recommend it to anyone. It was probably the least fun thing I've done to the car so far. I specifically looked for manual adjustment ones to make it easier and lighter, and it was still awful lol. The aftermarket one that I have for the drivers seat though? First of all, I absolutely love the way it feels. It makes you feel infinitely more secure, which I like. The stock seats were one of my least favorite parts of the car, so it was a no brained to replace them. Putting an aftermarket seat in (both this one and the ones I had in before) is relatively easy. Takes a little bit of time and creativity, but it can be done. Car feels pretty good in corners considering I have new shocks and struts, and a little wider tires, but I'm still rocking stock springs and just an f41 rear bar, so it's not exactly a corvette or anything haha. I'd call it "respectable" for a 4000 lb, 18-year-old luxury vehicle.

Oh come ooon, it can't be that bad. Let me torture myself. Just know, you're taking on a really miserable project haha. 1. Remove stock seats, and remove brackets (just some unbolting and such, no big deal) 2. Get someone who is really good at welding to weld aftermarket sliders to a steel plate, then weld that plate to the rails. The rails are cast, so you can't really weld to them very well, but a friend did mine, and they're holding two years later. 3. (This one sucks) remove the rails from the grand prix seats. You will have to chop them off with an angle grinder, but be careful not to get it too hot and burn the foam. 4. Now you're left with a basically smooth metal plate on the bottom of the seat. I drilled holes in this, then cut channels with a dremel to slide bolts into. I gripped the top of the bolt vice grips and tightened a nut onto the bolt to hold it steady. You 're now left with a seat with four studs sticking out the bottom. 5. Take your pre-assembled bracket/sliders, and put them on the studs, then tighten a nut onto them, holding the brackets to the seats. 6. Install the same way you would install a stock seat. It sounds relatively simple, but it's a lot of measuring and painstaking work. I wouldn't doubt that you could find a better way to do it, but this is what I did. good luck if you attempt!
