| Hey Zach, I'd recommend having a body shop paint your grille gloss black. Just be sure to scuff up your grille first with some 400 grit sandpaper to enable the paint to stick. It would definitely give your Riv a little more attitude. Nice spoiler by the way! I have the same one. | |

| I think it looks good as is! Imo, blacking out a white car cheapens the look. #ChromeForLife | |

| it has 130,000 miles and i got it from an older gentleman that needed room for a car he had just bought for his wife. I have added the spoiler, HID's, I painted the hood insulator, and the engine cover black with white trim. I have a 3.4 pulley, shift kit, a tune, and am working on exhaust. it has 12% tint all the way around. and new tires but looking for a little bigger chrome wheels. i like the clean chrome look. I cleaned the corner lenses with the 3M head light restoration kit and alot of time and patience. The interior is spotless and look as if it was never been sat in. I love this car and would not sell or trade it for the world i hope it is one i will on day pass down to my future children | |

| It definitely stiffened it up. It shifts harder almost to that of a power glide trans in an old Chevy. I like it though. It doesn't take an hour and a half to change from 2nd to 3rd anymore. | |

| I want to lower the riv 0.5-1 inch and don't want to cut the springs I want to use lowering springs. Has anyone done this before or know what springs to use? | |

| Might be difficult since you have a 97. The 97 uses 95-97 springs and top mounts, but the strut is unique to 97. You might be able to swap over to 98 struts and use Grand Prix lowering springs (what I did). Theoretically they should bolt up to your knuckle and then you reuse the existing top mounts, just need the lower rubber isolator for the new struts. For the rear you're going to need to make something custom like I did. Eibach did make a set of springs for the 98-02 STS which work on our cars as long as you have the 98 struts up front, but they are virtually impossible to find. As far as the rims go, that picture Chi linked is my car and you can sort of see the coilovers peeking through behind the rim. Threads to read through: https://rivperformance.editboard.com/t7854p135-custom-adjustable-front-coilovers-for-all-years-fabrication-required?highlight=coilovershttps://rivperformance.editboard.com/t265p510-faq-aftermarket-lowering-springs?highlight=springsThe rear springs off of the GP look similar to the front springs on 95-97 cars. I have no idea if they would fit or how they would do since they're not designed to handle the weight of the engine. I have a pair since I only needed the fronts but had to buy a whole set, 30 bucks shipped and they're yours if you feel like experimenting. | |
