| I washed the car and put gas in it right after, got home and parked it then headed out 20 mins later and the engine light went on when i started the car. The only reason I can find is that I put different gas (93 from esso instead of the usual 94 from petrocanada) but could that really be an issue? I sanded the gas tank opening had a bit of a rust, thought maybe it is not sealed (gas cap is 2 months old) but the light is still on. The cabin fuel tank release button stopped working as well, all in the same day, could it be that? I can still open it from the trunk
it is a 96 supercharged | |

it is a 96 supercharged Suggest you either buy an OBD II scanner or go someplace (an auto parts store) and have the codes read. The gas cap could be the problem, I am on my 5th. Some dealers have a gadget to test them. Not sure why they go bad but a parts guy told me the gaskets get stiff and start to leak air. Also said that Stant had had issues with those gaskets that of late seems to be fixed. | |
