Newbie from South Mississippi

Hello! Just brought home my new '98. Needs a paint job and a few other things.

Only gave $1300 for it. Got new Michelins, water pump, SC coupler, and new belts.

Has "fair" leather but no rips/ cracks. Looks like someone left a grocery bag in the passenger

seat and the printing came off the bag onto the leather. Maroon interior, BTW.

Everything works, so far.

Slight rust in the spare tire area, should be an easy fix.

Sunroof headliner wads up when shutting it.

Gotta chase down some water leaks in the interior.

Anyway, I will lean heavily on this forum to find out what I need to make my Riviera what it

is supposed to be. Oh and another BTW: she came with all the factory manuals and the little

owner's book.

There is a whole lot of information to search through and many owner's who may have experienced the same issues on this site, so you should be able to find many answers here.

Welcome! Based on your comment about rust in the spare tire well, double check that your trunk weatherstripping isn't leaking. Sometimes the hinge plates will let water pass through too. Best way to test is with a good flashlight and a good friend - close yourself in the trunk and have them spray the outside with a hose.

If you don't have a friend you can trust you can try holding a small piece of paper between the weatherstrip and the closed trunk lid, you shouldn't be able to slide the paper around easily.
