This is on the inside of the driver door at the top almost where it meets the fender. First time I noticed it. The passenger side has it with a piece of tape on top.

What is "it", exactly? That oddly looking bolt, or nut, or whatever?

My guess it it was wrecked and pulled. A lot of times body panels will pop back into shape if they are not hit too hard.

Probably was repaired. Do I need to have this welded so it will not spread or can I just cover it and forget about it? It's on the inside of the door and took me a year and a half to see it.
