| I know on the Series 2 supercharged engines, there are 2 belts, one for just the supercharger and 1 for the accessories. Is that the same for the Series 1 supercharged engines in the 95 Riviera and Park Avenue Ultra? Do any models run a belt that drives the S/C and something else? | |

OK, I was on another car forum, and believe it or not, there is a guy that wants to bypass the supercharger by using a shorter belt. All so he can use regular gas. I thought he could just remove one belt like the Series 2, but apparently, I was wrong. Not something I would do, but it is his car.

| I'd have to guess that removing the belt would reduce power considerably and causing his gas consumption to rise, but what do I know. He's messing with an integral part of the design. Please let us know if you happen to find out the result. | |

He's messing with an integral part of the design. Please let us know if you happen to find out the result. Oh, I know what the result will be. I told him how ill advisable that would be. I tried to encourage him to simply put 87 regular in the car and not drive it aggressively. I think that would be entirely doable without any downsides. Keeping it out of boost, or minimal boost, the KR would probably be negligible.
