| My dad and i just ran the computer and it gave us two problem codes. P0102 and P0300. P0102 said MAF or VAF Circuit Low input. P0300 said Random Multiple Misfire Detected. Anyone know what parts we should check or what to fix according to these codes? thanks. | |

| Check wiring on maf sensor and clean the sensor. Check your plugs, plug wires and coils. | |

| P0300 could mean bad gasoline. because it is a random misfire and not a specific cylinder(s). | |

| clean the MAF. use either MAF cleaner or stp throttle body cleaner. did you install a K&N filter recently? _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | P0300 (random multiple misfire) can be a lot of things. Aside from the plugs (condition & gap), wires, coilpack mentionned by oldsman, I would definitely check the maf 1st as they can be related. Then the fuel filter and check for a vacuum leak.
to clean your maf sensor, remove the 2 torx (torx security 20) screws from the top of the sensor. Pull it out and spray the really small elements inside with MAF cleaner (I use contact cleaner). I mean really douse them with it. Use the pressure from the can to dislodge all dirt. They get pretty dirty over time, especially if you use a k&n filter as most people over oil them. | |

| do not touch the elements b/c they are sensitive and a new maf can run about $200-$400 depending on your year. (dealer wanted over 400 for a MAF for my 96 b/c ours is different than the 97+ ) let us know if that fixes it. _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black.
