They are held on in part by little metal clips and in part by the spring tension of the moulding itself. I forget exactly how to take them off but it's detailed in the service manual. Do you have a copy of that manual?

| I did download what was supposed to be the service manual, thrns out it covers many GM vehicles. I have new moulding clips and and know how they work but don’t know if the moulding snaps off the clips or if the wheelwell retainers are removed and then the moulding and clips come off together. Thankyou for the reply-Dan | |

The Riv service manual is three volumes. I would have to see your multi-car manual to decide if I'd even bother with it. If it's like the Chilton's -- No. Riv manuals are not that expensive used on eBay. The moulding and clips should come off together, but if the clips are old enough they will just break.

The moulding and clips should come off together, but if the clips are old enough they will just break. The 97 FSM, that I linked, might be just 2 volumes, not sure. My 98 is 3. _________________ 98 Riviera SC3800 All stock except gutted air box. 1970 Buick GS455 Stage1, TSP built 470BBB, 602HP/589TQ Best MPH, 116.06 MPH, Best ET, 11.54 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHCda-t_Jls https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfT2tEO4XcU

Thanks Larry -- I'm pretty sure you're right. I think people are a little surprised the manuals are (a) still out there (b) a decent value.
