tranny help pls!!!!

Subject: tranny help pls!!!! Mon Aug 20, 2007 3:19 pm

okay i got my transmission fluid changed about 2 weeks ago... so the first week it was cool.. no problems.... then the next week the check oil level started lighting up for about a minute after i turn on my car... then goes off and doesnt turn on again only fater i turn off and back on .... what can i do.... i added another quart of fluid and its better now...

did u torque everything down properly?

wait, you think the "check oil" level light has something to do with your TRANNY fluid. Someone correct me if Im wrong, but I believe that light only activates if the engine oil is low. And I used to get that stupid light periodically at a cold startup.
but haven't seen it come on it years since...just a fluke I guess.

Yes, check the engine oil ASAP!

lol.. hey my brother got a riviera too.. ill post up some pics of his car also.. he also got some 22s on his.. looks pretty cool.. ill post up pics tomorrow... i have a feeling is the tranny fluid... 2 days ago i bout tranny fluid and pour half a quart and its doing better to slips or nothing... but the light still turns on for a minute on start up but no slips yet.. hopefully it was that... i dont really know how to check the tranny fluid.. i know my engine oil is fine

My check oil light would come on for 45 seconds after startup, replaced oil pan sensor, problem fixed.

Goodluck putting those on. I've never seen one done seemlessly. Everything I've seen they almost always hit something or don't close right always some kind of problem.

Not my cup of tea but I still want to see picks. Let us know how it turns out.

Remember: oil stick is yellow, tranny stick is red...

^^^^ lol. got that.. nah is not custom.. i couldnt find a custom for a riviera.. i found one but it was like 1600... its a bolt one.. my friend has put lambo doors for 5 other people.. 1 expedition, 1 f150., 2 maximas, a monte carlo and a mustang... ive seen his work and they have all been done with no problems.. hopefully mine doesnt have a problem either.. it will be done this weekend.. ill keep ya posted
