| ok so there has been a constant drip from my tranny now for some time and it was so small i just dismissed it as the gasket seeping. i thought i had overtightened the bolts the last time i changed the filter. i also overfilled it last time so it was never low or even close. never had any shift problems or anything. well, yesterday i drove back home(2hrs at 90mph) got into my parents driveway and 3hrs later had a big puddle of tranny fluid!!! i got the car warmed up again and checked the fluid. it was still at the full mark. i know our trans had like 14qts and the stuff is so thin a few drops looks like a gallon on slick concrete. i am going to spray it all down with degreaser and see if i can find where it is coming from. but my preliminary guess is the differential cover the puddle seems to be right under the diff and the gasket seems fine on the pan. i will try to take some pics but any advice is much apreciated. what else could it be? input shaft? how much damage ($$) am i looking at if its part of the diff? should i try any tranny stop leak? i never use that crap b/c im worried it will cause more damage than it will fix. | The half shaft isnt the easiest thing to do.U can jus disconnect the ball joint, jus the nut, then pull the shaft out of the tranny and push it out the way and then pull the seal. | |

| you can use a pry bar to pop the shaft out....drain any fluid also..as it will pour out...there should be a plug in the area to drain from the diff.. | |
