| http://www.windingroadonline.com/windingroad/200710ebay/?folio=30&EMC-AugustEBAY=&attr=modernclassictxt&ov=0032Y]Link Check the interior pic on the 3rd page. It's small and blurry but it looks the same. I'm starting to feel like maybe this knob has been shared between a few too many cars (Reatta, Camaro, Riv, what else?). And it goes all the way back to the 80's? | |

| I agree, it's probably the same one. It doesn't bother me, though. I like its feel, or I've gotten used to it at least. One thing I don't like are big, bulbous shifters like I've encountered in some Pontiacs. Also, I don't really like T shifters. I'm more comfortable with something that fits between a few fingers for easy shifting. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| The shifter in the Aurora seems much nicer than the one we've got. Ours does look sportier but I wouldn't mind if it were sportier and nicer than the Aurora's. | |

| I like the look and shape of our shifters....and despite the fact this shifter was used in almost every GM car from the 80's until the death of the Regal.....it harkens back to the original 63-65 Riv shifters in style. I've been thinking of changing mine just to upgrade the interior a bit, but I'm having trouble finding suitable shifters that I like the look and feel of with a button on top. | |

| I like how ours feels, but also think it could use an upgrade in appearance. | |

| You need the button to unlock the shifter so you can change gears. | |

| After driving around today consciously thinking about the feel of the shifter, I retract my earlier statement. It IS in a comfortable location for me as far as reach, but it sure isn't a particularly comfortable grip. If I knew of specific vehicles that would interchange, I'd hit the local yards and try out a couple others. | |

| There are two directions I'm seeing with shifters. One is the rounded, comfortable, leather-wrapped handle. These have good grip, usually feel warm and soft in your hand. Some are more rounded than others, some try to be ergonomic with special shapes, and the button position can change from top to trigger. Then you have the cylinders. Usually hard, machined metal or plastic surface, button on top, sharp edges, wooden or carbon inserts... it's more like a joystick than a handle. The cylinders appear to be more about looks than comfort/function.
I usually drive with my hand on the OEM shifter. If it were replaced with a cylinder, I'd only touch it when I needed to. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Plus, I'd want to keep my hand off so I can look at it more of the time! _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Same here Aaron, cylinder style is not for me. But I still feel the OEM handle can stand some improvement. I loved a Hurst T style pistol grip handle I used for a few years on a stick car, 73 Nova SS. Pretty cold in the winter though. | |
