| shave the sides of the riv? or do you have an imp too? i vote no for the riv, but it's b/c i like the stock look and i would want to keep it original and conservative. some pics after you do it might change my mind though can anyone PS a riv smooth? _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | I think it would look ok w/o the side rub strips. Mine have been beat up a bit, right side in particular. Go ahead and experiment for us. | |

| I'd keep the rub strips unless you are going to park your car and only show it. The sheetmetal would take a beating! | |

| It will make the car look heavier and not as long, like a Cadi DTC. Not against it, though. Could look really nice if done right. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Now I know how much I'm appreciated around here. I pchopped this idea over a year ago - The side I could have done a better job on - Somebody printed these off and was going to show them to Boyd Coddington but I guess that never happened. I'm all for removing the rub strips, but it will mean a visit to the PDR guy every week. But removing the rub strips is just the beginning of what could be done.

I've got pics of other Rivs but I might as well do yours.

| being that my car is covered in dust and chit, it would be best if you could just do it on a different rivi
as for the grey piece on the bottom im just going to mold and paint them

Definitely looks good. The side view makes it look longer for some reason, even without the moldings. Maybe because the top is gone?

It's because the back seat is covered. It's looks like an El Camino or something because it's so long behind the doors. I think it would look much better with the top on and no rub strips. I'm not feelin' it, but hey, if you like it, build it. Who cares what anyone else thinks. BTW, I park waaaayyyyy out there and I still get marks on my rub strips. I can't image not having the protection.

| Patience, grasshopper. It looks good, but it's only a start. The next thing is custom bumper covers. The stock ones stick out too far. And shaved door handles. I wonder how hard it would be to chop the roof? | |

| I was just thinking today how the new Enclave bronze would look on a car. I really think it would be a stunner. | |

| I'd love to see it chopped please. Anyway you can chop mine? That's my plan for next year. I've been told chopped rides don't do well as daily drivers so I'm hoping to park mine once I do it and make it a fair weather ride. | |

| There are no exterior styling differences between the years, except for the 200 1999 Silver Arrow cars that have an arrow emblem instead of an "R" emblem. If it's on your car, we've all got it. | |
