| Doesn't mean it goes any faster than the other cars though, and there's nothing that isn't street legal on my car. | |

Technically, your headlights won't be. The 80W's say "off-road use only" right?

| Technically, having a radar detector isn't illegal either, but this has nothing to do with the cop's decision to give you a ticket. First step in getting a ticket is being pulled over - a yellow car with yellow lights is at higher risk simply because it gets noticed more easily. Doesn't matter if it only looks faster, the trooper's decision to ticket you is often subjective, depending on whether he/she thinks you deserve it.
One advantage of the Riviera is that it can make you appear to be a more responsible driver than you really are. Has gotten me out of trouble probably a dozen times. Not lying, an officer let me go once after I was caught doing 80+ in a 45 zone. I will never completely understand that, but I don't think I could have pulled it off in a Honda.
You may think you are safer from the law in a car that has less power, but remember - you are one of the few people who know that. Most perceive a Buick as slow, quiet, boring, and typically driven by law-abiding citizens. Be careful having much fun in the Si.
FWIW, our racing Integra is totally street legal, even has a cat converter. Wouldn't you know it, the 2nd or 3rd time we had it on the road, not doing anything wrong, our captain was pulled over. No harm done, but that car has only been on street maybe 10 times, and pulled over once already. It's a cop magnet, a 100% legal cop magnet. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

- Alright, thanks. The Eurolights were supposed to last a longer time though, and I was very satisfied with them as an alternative to HID's on my Riv. AA claims almost exactly one year of use with his. My Si has a good light projection cutoff line, so the added wattage wouldn't be blinding.
Does the Honda use the same bulb-type, 9006? If you want more light within your cutoff, not just yellow light, you can get 1800 lumens of white light for 55 watts with the Philips HIR-2's that I installed on Page 14...

| The '04-'05 Si has the 9006/9005 setup, but mine has the 9003, or H4, which is a dual-filament bulb. I went with a pair of 55W bulbs in the end for $15 off of Amazon. The new bulbs aren't urgent because the regular halogens work fine, but I'm experimenting with the color to see how I like it before buying a set from a brand name for much more. | |

| Sorry I haven't gotten around to posting an update. I got the yellows that friday and got them in, and they look great! The brand name is Nokya(sounds like Nokia but in Japanese they're spelled differently). They look a little yellower than in the pictures, but you don't notice much of a difference compared to a regular halogen when driving. The light is just as bright and it goes well with the car. Stock(white LED parking light) Yellow Not sure how they'd look on a Riv because Riv's didn't come in yellow, but personally I'd say stick with bluish white lights on the Riviera. Looks a lot cleaner on those cars. | |

| Cool man. I installed some Nokya Stage 2 8500k Arctic Purple bulbs 2 weeks ago, along with 14 gauge jumper harnesses with a melt-proof connectors on the bulb side. Only reason I bought 'em is because my LF headlight burned out....gave me an excuse to buy new ones. www.automotivelightingusa.com had a sale on Nokya bulbs. Got them and the harnesses for $37 They're definitely different. The overall light output isn't really greater, just different. Everything that's reflective glows. Even far away, shit glows lol. I'll post pics when I get the "good" camera. | |

| My Nokya's make distant signs 'glow' too, especially in parking lots. Looking forward to pics of those purples! | |

| LT1....that sucks. I'd be pissed.....got my bulbs and harnesses in 4 days Here's the bulbs Close up day Night I tried taking a few pics from inside the car while driving, but the good ole cell phone just doesn't do justice.....they put out this wierd, purple outline around the perimeter. I'm used to it now though. Had my brights on for a few miles the other day....when I went back to low beams it was kinda hard to adjust lol. | |

| I think he's waiting for Eurolights, not the Nokyas. I didn't have to wait very long at all for my Euros. Maybe check your email for a shipping verification and UPS tracking ID. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Well, I'll never buy any Nokya bulbs again. It's been what....3 months? Well, this is what the bulbs ended up doing......absolute garbage. But, as I searched through our bulb cabinet at work, I happened to find a set of bulbs that are awesome. They looked kinda like Plasma blue, with silver "caps" on the end of the bulb. Not sure who they're made by, but I like em! | |

| Yeah, I like em. You can tell they're not "cheap", and they actually light up the road. those stupid Nokya's seemed dimmer than stock bulbs. My first time driving with them (the new ones) at night was Friday. I drove out to my buddy's house after bowling to play some PS3. Had to stop and adjust the beams a few times to get them aimed right. I left his house at 2:30am, and it was snowin like a mofo (we got 6 inches over night). Drivin home on the freeway at 70mph was wild. Looked like I was going through space with blue/white glowing stars flyin at my windshield | |

| No clue. I'd have to pull them out and look again. They aren't overly bright though. I do know that the bulbs said Phillips on them.
If you look up Luminics Krypton Ultra White's, they look like those....with the silver "cap".

| AA....those bulbs are no brand "xenon" filled. I was mistaken about the Phillips. They had no name, all they say are HB4 9006 80W. The LF bulb burnt out in 2 weeks (filament burned). They were previously used, so I had no idea how long they'd last. I've acquired two HID projectors from a wreck here in the shop. I have the ballasts, projectors, bulbs, high beam flipper thing, and the motors that turn the headlight....... New projector HID project coming soon!!!! | |

| Those bulbs were probably from the same bin the Eurolights come from. Nice bright, blue light, but never lasted more than a year for me. The Phillips X-Treme Power are just going on a year old - survived a couple ~5ºF days - we'll see what happens. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Just to update this thread, and as an FYI for ppl regarding the Eurolights: I purchased some Eurolight lamps about 3 years ago for my low beams. The bulbs are still going strong after around 3 years of usage! I can't say the same about the bulb sockets, though. About a month ago, my driver side headlight started to work really infrequently. After taking it off, I noticed one of the contacts on the headlight socket was totally melted. About 5 days ago, one contact on the passenger side socket melted through too. I love the lights! But, I've gotten some sockets that are supposed to handle higher temps, and we'll see if they can outlast these bulbs. We'll see how long the high beam sockets last (probably not much longer) | |

| I just got a pair of the Phillips 9006xps2 bulbs for a very good price. They will be installed today and I'll let you know what I think. They are going to cost me about $15.00 for the pair after rebate. What do I have to lose? | |

| I think you'll like the Extreme Power bulbs. Not only are they pretty bright, but unlike the SilverStars, they will last longer - mine are going on 2 years old. They are also a warm white light, not blue, but close to bright white. Awesome deal you found. I paid almost 4x that much! _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Thanks, Aaron. I think they will be a big improvement. The decent longevity you've experienced makes me even happier. With a Michigan winter approaching I hope they help with the dark to dark daily drive. Working for NAPA does have it's advantages price wise. I installed them this afternoon and cleaned the lenses afterwards. I'll have to check alignment later when it's dark. Luckily with the Rivi it's easy to do. | |
