| I've been an avid reader of the board for a while and finally decided to join. Seems hard to find a forum like this for the last gen.
Anyways, been collecting info for my brothers 95' and my mother's 97'. I'll post pics of those soon. (BTW the white diamond pearl on these cars is horrible to match and blend, next time the 97 will be repainted w/o pearl thank you.)
I will be getting rid of my modded 96 Grand Prix soon and have limited my choices down to either a riv or a 97-03 gtp. I'm not sure if I am wanting to go classy or sporty.
hoping to find some ideas

| If you build it the Riv has more than enough sporty potential.
But how much classy can a Gran Prix ever deliver?

| I appreciate the feedback everyone, I'm really wanting to build up a Riviera.
I'll explain my conflict w/ pic examples in the showroom section.
btw, Jack the R, if you don't mind me asking of course, which version of photoshop are you using? I still need to see if my old version is compatible with vista, but I doubt it will of course....

| Nick, are you from St. Louis? I'm about 2.5 hours north of there. I sometimes make trips to STl. We should grab a drink sometime.
Welcome aboard! | |

| envus87 - I am using - 5.5!!
Seriously. I recently had a chance to spend time with CS2, and I didn't like it. All the features they've put in make the interface too slow.
I'm running XP, with no plans to upgrade to Vista. Ever. I'm working on switching to PCLinuxOS and GIMP.

| jack- my computer bit the dust, didnt feel like building one, went with a store bought w/ vista....and hate it......dot dot dot
I feel the same way about the newer versions, I stayed with 7 instead of upgrading.
nothingcametomind- let me know man, I'm actually from a small town in illinois about 30 minutes away so I usually just say stl to keep it simple, ya know.

| What happened to your old computer? Hard drive die?
I've yet to have a computer that couldn't be repaired. The one I'm using now is 13 years old. Started life at 75 mhz.

Knock on zebra wood. You're due for a hard disk failure at any second. Hope you have everything backed-up. First time I lost my internal HD, I almost cried. Redundant dual external drives for me from now on.
The only units I see long life from are Macs (made in USA). The one here at work is from '00-01, runs at 450 Mhz, CS2 runs just fine. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

No Storms, so I had no idea.

| Ahhh - that'll do it. There should be a way to tell what condition a surge protector is in. Maybe it had already caught 30 lightning strikes and was toast?
I think a storm could be miles away and still fry your system.
