| Hey guys. Name is Rick. I'm from the regalgs and clubgp boards. A member on regalgs referred me to this site. I might be getting a Riviera as a second car. I already have a Regal but it's a little too modded to be driven daily. Would probably keep the Regal if I purchased a Riv and might tinker with the Riv a little to get it running a little more efficiently. Just scanning through the different topics here. Seems like a good crowd. I'm looking forward to participating over here. | |

| Good to have you, Rick
If you like the regal, I'm sure you'll like a riv. What's going on with the regal that you don't want to drive it on the street?

| Coilovers make for a rough ride. The car is pretty much perfect and I want to keep it that way. I've driven it a little this winter and it's just killing me having it on the sandy streets. Not that the car seems to mind. It's running better now than it ever did before. GenV screams with the 3.0" pulley and no need for an IC when the ambient is under 30*. lol | |

| Pretty much any Riv 1996 and newer would suffice. | |

| I would suggest a 97 + (bigger stock brakes) and the first year for 4T65E.
1996 had the older 4T60E.

| Hi Rick, and welcome. Some of us came over from RegalGS.org a couple years ago. One name I remember quite well from there was Joe DeMonte. Any relation?
Joe was one of those you could always count on for the right answers. Very nice guy. He ended up getting a GTO and left Regal GS around '06. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| I know Mr. DeMonte. He actually asked me about my SN when I first got on regalgs. He was curious if there was relation. No relation, unfortunately. The name was derived from my old car. A 1997 Dale Earnhardt Monte Carlo. I agree with your sentiments about him though. Very knowledgable and always went out of his way to help out and provide accurate information. | |

| Im kinda in the same boat as you except my leap over to the Rivera was kind of forced lol If your looking for a comfortable DD i think the riviera fits the bill. They ride so damn smooth and is still able to turn heads and look clean. Your Regal is one of my personal favorites from RegalGS since its not to over or underdone. One thing i tried to imagine was if you had the wheels powedercoated black but being original SLPs i dont you would do that lol I gave my dream up of being all out modded so with this car I'm planning to keep the stock suspension and put a decent 3.5 setup (SSAC Headers, FWI,1.9rr, Tune), Fbodys and call it a day performance wise. If you get a Rivi what you got planned for it? ZZP Z7 kit maybe? Turbos are pretty efficient | |

| I agree w/ oldsman105. I owned a 96 and a 97 at the same time a few yrs back and there were enhancements to the 97 over the 96.... better suspension and a slight increase in horsepower being a couple I noticed. Keeping an eye on prices, I have not noticed much of a $$ difference between them nowadays. So, better to get a younger one (JMO). | |

| Thanks for the welcomes guys! I definitely recognize a few members previously from the Regal board. Glad to have found a forum that specializes in Rivs. | |
