| I was flipping through the pages of my latest summit magazine and saw this caspers electronics module for GM engines, and found one for ours.. tell me what you guys think These are designed to optimize the critical throttle (voltage) signal that determines the fuel delivery and spark timing. Flat and even dead spots in the throttle position sensor are automatically corrected using this unit. Direct weather proof plug-in connections. Installs in minutes. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10002_81482_-1 It doesn't shed much more information about it, I might order one soon and try it out | |

| I believe I can get a good discount on these if several members wanted to order. Would have to request a quote though. And if Summit has them, I may get around 25% off. I think Jegs would be close as well. I usually go Summit. | |

| I'd also wonder about a direct plug in the Rivs. They only say it's 3800 Series II, not Riv specific. | |

| Summit doesn't bother to list a Buick application, though you would assume it is right, since it does cover the 3800 in other makes from 95-2001, give or take.

| It is a TPS enhancer .. All it does is at 75% throttle it commands the PCm to 100% throttle. it is a waist of money. | |

Now there's a straightforward explanation of what it does. Here's what Summit states: - Quote :
- Caspers Electronics throttle position calibrators will eliminate annoying hesitation when you mash down your throttle. They simply plug into your throttle position sensor and help your throttle response. They enhance the performance of any computer chip, module, or programmer.

| I can understand what oldsman is saying, though. This device makes the gas pedal reach full throttle sooner. It doesn't really add any performance. From 75-100% throttle there would be no difference... even though your foot is still moving. I don't see the point.

What are they saying, exactly? That I'm waiting too long while my foot goes to the floor? We're talking milliseconds here. Maybe for a Honda Civic, but our torque kicks in pretty early. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| there is another device that casper makes that wires into the alternator and plugs into the tps provides the extra voltage. I dont really know how it performs really since i installed it on my new engine....all i know is that after about 10 minutes at idle will kill my battery. Intense carries it under the "electronics and pcm" its like $75.00 | |

| My impression is that it would be a big waste of $89. Any perf gains would be pretty insignificant. | |
