| You'll probably need to use a custom mounting plate, or you may need to modify the hole - but yes, they'll fit. You can also surface mount most tweeters somewhere else behind the grill. The OEM tweeter location isn't ideal by any means. I created a bridge and mounted them over the midrange, like a coaxial speaker. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| my speakers are blown in my door so I have been using only the rears since I got the car in May.
Can anyone recommend a good set of 51/4 and tweeters? I just need decent not pro. ~$150 for everything would be nice.
The local shops are crooks so im looking at bestbuy or some place like that.

| The Lanzar VX530 5-1/4" 3-Way speakers are pretty good they cost $21.95 (pair) + shipping 80 watts RMS pair / 40 watts RMS each, and for tweeters you can go with Pyramid TW8 1'' for $7.95 (pair) + shipping.Lanzar VX530 5-1/4" 3-Way http://www.caraudiodeals.com/lanzar-vx530-p-478.html Pyramid TW8 1'' http://www.caraudiodeals.com/pyramid-tw8-p-3240.html If you want better quality sound speakers you can go with the 5.25" components for example:FLI Audio FI5COMP-F3 $44.99 (pair) - Free Shippinghttp://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_36657_FLI-Audio-FI5COMP-F3.html Orion Cobalt CO552 $44.99 (pair) - Free Shippinghttp://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_11870_Orion-Cobalt-CO552.html MB Quart FSB 213 $54.99 (pair) - Free Shippinghttp://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_33020_MB-Quart-FSB-213.html Rockford Fosgate PRIME R152-S $64.99 (pair) - Free Shippinghttp://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22625_Rockford-Fosgate-PRIME-R152-S.html Pioneer TS-A1304C $64.99 (pair) - Free Shippinghttp://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_31090_Pioneer-TS-A1304C.html This are some examples, but it's totally under your decision which ones to buy, you really won't get that much power/quality out of 5.25" but aftermarket speaker is alway much better than OEM. | |
