| I've had an 1870 code for quite some time. The car feels like it has no power in 1st gear and the exhaust is heavier than normal. After driving I can smell a burnt smell.
Any thoughts? I've changed teh transmission fluid already and used seafoam to clean it also.

| Its a '96 with 123,000.
Other than having no power when I first accelerate it runs fine.

| on the 1996 4L60e, to fix the 1870 code we stake the TCC regulated apply valve in the full-open position, which eliminates the PWM function. With the pwm function locked down, it then functions like a regular lockup. You don't need to reflash the PCM.
Don't know about the 4T60... I suppose it would be similar but you may want to check it out. THe 4L60e transgo shift kit addresses the issue. I don't know if the 4T60e transgo kit addresses it, butit includes the PWM valve, lock-up regulator valve & bushings.

| With a 123000 miles you might as well spend your time shopping around for a rebuild transmisson. | |
