| I bought it like this and was aware of it, but I'm iffy on how to go about fixing this. My front .R logo is pushed inward and cracked in 7 different places, I'm suprised it didn't fall in already! It is very, VERY thinly connected to the chrome ring around it with black plastic 'fins' that stretch backward. I'm thinking that if I'm very gentile, I can pull them out a bit to their original positions, and superglue the black plastic together. I circled in red the fissures. And here's a more dramatic pic of the damage this icon has suffered. I don't know how it wound up this way, but I think I can fix it if I don't rush myself and snap it off.

| Grille plastic doesn't like to glue back together very well, you'd be better off searching car-part.com for a replacement, they can't be that much. | |

| Well, I'll give it a shot anyway.
Crazy glue: $2.50.
Replacement grille, with shipping: $130
Having a beautiful, flawless car: Priceless. Not really though, the price is one of the two I mentioned, lol.

| ed morad may be able to get you one even cheaper than the one i posted. personally, i would replace it rather than glue it. b/c eventually you'll be buying a new one anyways when the glue cracks off or it breaks further next time you clean it and forget its fragile _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | Won't fit. My grille only has the 4 screws on the inside-top to hold it on, not the back brackets. Besides, I'm about to buy speakers and have them installed here! I don't have $100 to throw around on a grille when a drop of crazy glue might do it! I'll try it out on Saturday, when I have time, and if it doesn't work then I'll get a replacement grille.
Boy, the '95's sure are a breed of their own! Different pedals, flush dashboard panel, differrent door leather, different engine covers, and different grille mounts! Gotta love it, though.

| 95's didnt use the inside brackets on the grille? if crazy glue doesnt work, then they make a plastic weld epoxy that is very strong. its a bit on the thicker side, and not all of them dry clear. good luck _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | I don't want to just remove the logo, or chip out the R and leave a ring. I'll try my luck with the crazy glue, I can get that into the cracks on the inside and then use it to 'weld' them shut on the outside. | |

If your's does not have the brackets, they are missing! The grille is the same for all of the '95-'99 Rivieras!

| if you can remove the 'R' you could try to fix it on the bench (cleaner gluing from the back), then reattach it to the car. Don't remove it just to have no 'R' at all! | |

| Well, I got back from swim practice early enough today that there was still light out. I decided to try fixing it, so I went out, moved up the piece that was unattached from the R on the left, gently pulled the other out, and the whole thing popped out to its normal position! Nothing else snapped off, and all the cracks are flush. I superglued around the cracks, fastened the broken line piece on the left back on and level with the other half, and wiped the extra off with a plastic baggie, since that wouldn't leave papery residue like a tissue would. If you're not a critic, like anyone not on this website, you can't even tell it was broken! Thanks, superglue! | |
