i dont know what those are, but i'm guessing its the dissolving wafers people put into the radiator to fix cracks and leaks?
i dont see any need to add them if yours is working fine. a good flush and refill with new rubber hoses every now and then should be all the maint. you ever need to do to the cooling system. of course it is a good idea to replace the cap and t-stat after lots of miles.
i have a 180* t-stat, new hoses, new WP, clean and fairly new radiator, and flushed internal passages less than a year ago. on the highway @50mph i am seeing temps around 176* with ambient at 50*. sitting in traffic temps will rise until i turn on the a/c and fans which always bring the temps under 200 even in FL summer.
i am aslo running a 70/30 mix (more water than antifreeze)with 'watter wetter' additive. the stuff seems to really work and keep temps down longer and it runs about 5* cooler on the highway. down side is it takes forever to warm up in cold weather. in fact, (and i dont mean to ramble with a story, but i'm procrastinating hw right now) on the rare ocasion it gets down to freezing here in FL i can leave the car sit with the heat on HI, and i think it will run out of gas before reaching normal operating temps. i dont recommend running mostly water for those of you in freezing climates.
