Since my SC belt fragged on me today, I just cut it off and am running NA until it's warm enough up here to do the belts and pullies. Question is, with no boost, is there any good reason I can't run on 89 in the meantime? I'd think the low comp engine would be just fine without premium. Comments? It would be nice to spend 30cents less per gallon for a while. Yep, that's about $4.50 per fill.

You can run 87 if you want. The engine won't know the difference. I'm sure it's confused as hell about the missing SC belt, though.

No price difference here for 87. I don't know about confused, it's running smooth as glass and quieter. Makes me wonder if my SC bearings are going south. Just curious, the injectors DO make a little clicking sound, right?

with no S/C you should be able to run 87 without a problem. It's a low compression piston.
