| Shouldn't be addicted to something you're not even supposed to have yet. You could try a carpet cleaning vac if you have one, sometimes enough spray, scrubbing and use of that vacuum will get it up. | |

| If you have an addictive personality, then mentally you just think you can't quit. If you're positive about it and know you can quit, then there is no limit to be honest. I hate the whole addicted excuse. Your jaw is going to rot off your face, and then you'll think hmm.. Maybe I should have quit. You probably think that it won't happen, but I assure you, you WILL develop some form of jaw cancer, it's a proven fact.
As for the carpet.. paint it! | |

| i used to chew! after getting used to it,i liked it! but i gave it up. good thing too! i love to eat and chewing really messed up the flavor of food, for me. anyway, a good substitute for chew is natural liqorice stick. it really is part of a tree, and they are actually branches ,about 1/4 thick and about 4" long. i used to buy them when i lived in queens NY from the smoke shops, dont know if you can get them in utica though. wish i had theire real name for you,but thats what we called them. they give off a slight sense of euphoria ,a calming effect, and they are good for the digestion. hate to sound like a busy body maybe give em a try! if anybody out there know what im talking about, maybe you can chime in with the real name...... | |

| pick up a can of spot cleaner and try that before you start painting over a spot like that. the cans of cleaner come in aerosol foam and have a brush attached to the can. dab up as much as you can before spraying and scrubbing it. then if the stain is still there you could take it to a detail shop and have them spot treat it for you. unless you have acess to a steam cleaner with attachments. then if all that fails you can try dying the carpet to blend out the stain. _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | most organic stains (grape juice, wine, etc) come out with hydrogen peroxide and/or "oxy clean" that you can get at a local grocery (Giant, Wegmans, Kroger, etc) or the larger drug stores (like CVS, Rite Aid, or Walgreen's). Hydrogen peroxide does not work with dirt (soil, carbon, sandy residues, inorganic dyes and such) but it works quite well on food stains such as grape juice.
However, I have not had to remove tobaco stains so it may not work.
Good news though is that since using it does not involve heat, there is no risk if you try it and a bottle of hydrogen peroxide costs less than $2.
What I would do:
- borrow/get a wet/dry vac and get a scrub brush and bucket of water (about half full). Also a dry, clean towel. And some carpet shampoo or dish detergent. And if you don't already have one, buy a bottle of hydrogen peroxide; - splash hydrogen peroxide onto the stain, scrub it around with the brush - put some carpet shampoo or dish detergent on the brush and scrub that into the stain. Work from the edges in so you don't leave a water spot when you are done - Use the wet/dry vac to vacuum up the suds and stuff - if the stain is still there, repeat. - use the wet/dry vac to get the carpet as dry as you can to finish - use the dry, clean towel to finish by wiping up - use the wet/dry vac to fluff the carpet - if you can, leave windows open a bit to encourage the last of the water to evaporate.
What this process does is uses hydrogen peroxide to oxidize the organic compounds in the stain. They will change color, although they will not necessarily disappear. The carpet shmpoo or dish detergetn use used to emulsify the stain and hold it in liquid suspension until you can vacuum it up. You have to vac it up promptly (don't stop in the middle) so it does not re-stain becaue the hydrogen peroxide oxidises the organic part but can leave inorganic residue behind dependig on what is in the stain. For instance, the iron in blood is left behind (turns brown, iron oxide) during such a cleaning but the proteins not.
Hpoe this helps you Corey.
