Is the air expansion chamber attached to the piece of hose that runs from the box to the throttle body an important device or just an acoustic silencer? Can i remove it and plug off the holes or does it need to stay put?

Sweet i was hoping that it could go away an give a little more sound. Nice intake by the way it looks very professional and i intend to go with your design when i build one of my own. I just destroyed my stock setup trying to build an intercooler out of my stock box, but fortunately i found a 1995 wrecked at a local yard in my town and took the intake from it.

thanks. I find my intake looks pretty "ghetto" but it works and it is cheap.
